The local garden club A River Runs Through It hosts its annual self-guided Garden Tour on Sunday, July 21, with six locations in Waterbury and Duxbury.

The gardens chosen for this year’s tour include a variety of ecological settings including riverside, mountainside, sun, shade and vegetable gardens. Specific addresses are not announced until the day before the tour.

Organizers say that most locations are private homes, but the group also has included stops on the tour at the Community Gardens of both Waterbury and Duxbury.

Tickets for the tour are $22 ($25 including fees) and can be purchased in advance online at sevendaystickets.com. Tickets also will be available for purchase on the day of the event from members of club who will be located at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 56 South Main St., Waterbury.

Those who purchase tickets in advance will receive a detailed tour map, instructions, and garden descriptions via email the night before the tour.

Most of the gardens are located at private residences on dirt roads. Parking is limited in some locations so carpooling is encouraged.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times while touring the gardens. Attendees should wear comfortable walking shoes and all are asked to please leave pets at home.

All proceeds benefit the A River Runs Through It community grants, programs and garden projects.
