Ballet Vermont’s performing company steps onto the stage for their premiere performance of (re)BOUND, a showcase of new works of contemporary ballet by three Vermont choreographers, Friday-Saturday, May 5-6, in South Burlington and Greensboro.

The original production is the result of a collaboration of Chatch Pregger, Isadora Snapp and Avi Waring.

Since opening in February 2022 in Waterbury, Ballet Vermont has created a performing company that brings together unique dancers to produce joyful, accessible shows. The company actively works to change the historical narrative of ballet, with a focus on inclusivity, accessibility and joy.

The performance company provides local adult dancers consistent training, opportunities to learn new and classical repertoire, as well as performance pay. Ballet Vermont began with its Farm to Ballet summer performances – this year’s performances start July 8. (re)BOUND will be the company’s first stage show after seven seasons of dancing on grass at farms across Vermont.

(re)BOUND’s presentation explores unique themes with choreography that examines family and relationship dynamics, breaking out/searching for individuality, and intimacy through shared experiences over time. “Working on this choreography has been an opportunity for the dancers and choreographers to work through their own experiences with family, love and relationships,” reflected Artistic Director and Choreographer Chatch Pregger. “I invite the audience to share in a transformative experience with us.”

Ballet Vermont’s mission is to provide high-quality, inclusive, and joyful ballet to the Vermont community. (re)BOUND is their latest production inviting people to engage with the arts and experience a shared community in an exciting way.

Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Spotlight Vermont, 50 San Remo Drive, South Burlington, and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Highland Center for the Arts, 2875 Hardwick St., in Greensboro.

Run time is about 65 minutes.

Tickets are on sale now at balletvermont.org. Ballet Vermont values making the arts accessible and offers tickets at two prices, allowing audience members to choose the price that works for them at $15 or $25.
