Harwood senior Ava Thurston of Waterbury placed first out of 136 racers Monday during the 5-kilometer freestyle competition at the 2022 U.S. Ski & Snowboard Junior National Cross-Country Ski Championships taking place this week in Minneapolis. Thurston outpaced the second-place finisher by more than a minute.

The No. 2 Harwood Boys Lacrosse team is one victory away from reaching the Division II finals for the fourth straight year after Friday’s 18-5 win against Stowe in the quarterfinal match of the spring playoffs.
