Oct. 14, 2023 | By Waterbury Roundabout

The Harwood Union Varsity Field Hockey team will host a student clinic at the Harwood track on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Players in grades 3-8 are invited to attend to meet the team, learn about the sport and have some fun. The varsity players and Harwood coaches will run introduction to field hockey drills, small games and skills instruction. Students will receive a T-shirt, a reversible game pinnie, and a Halloween goodie bag.

The clinic is open to both boys and girls (Yes! Boys play field hockey too!) ages 10 and older.

Sign up beforehand by emailing your player’s name to Coach Katie Martin at mkatie721@gmail.com. The team has some equipment to lend. Let them know in your message if you need to borrow sticks or shin guards. Sneakers and mouth guards recommended.

The cost is $35 with proceeds supporting the Harwood Middle/High School field hockey program for equipment and more. There still are several games on the fall schedule. Check the Harwood Tandem Calendar for details.
