The Stowe Nordic ski club is offering a seven-session program this winter for adults who are new to classic cross-country skiing or who have skied a little but have not received any formal instruction.

Taking place at the Trapp Family Lodge Outdoor Center, the Nordic Skiing Basics course will provide participants with the foundational skills, technique, and confidence to venture out on a variety of terrain and have fun on skis. The goal is to turn people on to a fun and healthy lifetime sport that keeps people active in winter.

The class will meet on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. starting on Nov. 12 with an indoor session on skis and with gear. Afterward, dates (snow permitting) are: Dec. 10, 17; Jan 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Cost is $70. Participants also must be a Stowe Nordic member, which is a $30 fee, and have a Trapp Family Lodge trail pass. Sign up on Stowe Nordic's website.
