Armory Drive

The town Public Works Department will continue work on Bridge #33 over Thatcher Brook on Armory Drive. This project will continue throughout the summer construction season. Residents of O'Hear Court and Armory Drive can expect one-lane traffic and possible delays.

Howard Avenue

On Wednesday, June 7, Howard Avenue in Waterbury Center will be closed for road reclamation from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local traffic to homes and businesses will be allowed access. Other drivers should seek another route.

The project will involve removing the top layer of pavement with a gravel surface remaining for up to three weeks. During that time, the Highway Department will work on culverts and the Water Department will do maintenance on valves in that stretch of the system. The road will be closed periodically for these operations. Town officials will announce the anticipated closures in advance on Front Porch Forum, WDEV and Waterbury Roundabout.

Main Street

The final utility wire over the middle section of Main Street was removed this week in preparation for the wooden utility poles to be removed mostly between Stowe Street and the State Office Complex. Project officials have not yet scheduled the pole removal and subsequent sidewalk repairs. Those steps are anticipated to be completed by Sept. 1. An updated schedule on the final steps is expected from VTrans soon.

Interstate 89 | Richmond

U.S. 2 | Richmond-Bolton

Motorists will encounter areas of one-way alternating traffic along U.S. Route 2 Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists can expect moderate interruptions and travel on some areas of gravel surface between Snipe Ireland Road and Lemroy Court.

Vermont 100 | Stowe

The project at the intersection of Vermont Route 100 and West Hill Road will continue with crews installing new signals and signs and placing new line markings. Alternating one-lane traffic controlled by flaggers will be in place between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists should reduce speeds and travel with caution through the active construction zone.
