The Vermont State Police are seeking a person of interest in connection with two thefts from vehicles outside homes on U.S. Route 2 in Waterbury recently.

According to a news release from Trooper Mae Murdock, the incidents took place sometime on Sunday-Monday, Oct. 20-21. State police received reports on Monday morning, shortly before 8:30 a.m., that thefts had occurred from vehicles at two homes.

The investigation that followed found that multiple items had been taken with the total value in excess of $900, police said.

In addition, investigators also determined that a debit card that was among the stolen items had been used at a merchant in Burlington.

Now state police are asking for the public’s help in locating an individual for questioning about the fraudulent use of the stolen debit card. The person has been identified as Raymond Parker, 42, of Burlington. Police shared several photos of Parker from a transaction on Oct. 21 and from a previous unrelated visit to the same store involving Parker, police explained.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Trooper Mae Murdock at the Berlin barracks at 802-229-9191. Anonymous tips may be provided online at vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit.
