Vermont State Police say they responded to a call on Sunday concerning an “untimely death” in downtown Waterbury.

The incident occurred early Sunday afternoon near the Waterbury Train Station.

Lt. Thomas Howard, commander at the state police Berlin barracks, responded to an inquiry from Waterbury Roundabout on Monday morning. He said troopers and personnel from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded to the call. EMTs also were on site, according to witnesses.

After investigation, it was determined that the circumstances did not warrant a public announcement. State police spokesman Adam Silverman on Monday explained: “This was a non-suspicious death from natural causes involving an individual who experienced a medical event. We do not plan to release additional information.”
