Main Street Construction | July 10-17

Beginning July 13, expect heavy construction and delays from Dac Rowe Park to Park Street. Work on Stowe Street continues. The new traffic signal foundations are going in at Park Row. Sidewalk work is ongoing with tree planting and landscaping starting too. Use alternate routes if possible. Construction activities are ongoing in all segments along Main Street and side roads. Flaggers and pedestrian crossers are present throughout.

Between Dac Rowe Park and Stowe Street: Residents and businesses should have water on site for drinking, washing, and flushing while work is ongoing in this area. Water main installation will take place in this segment starting at Stowe Street heading toward Dac Rowe Park. Water may be turned off briefly while the new line is installed. Driveways will have temporary closures for excavation. Plan vehicle access accordingly as work progresses. Temporary parking is available at the municipal offices and library.

Main Street between Stowe Street and Park Street: Starting Monday, July 13, drainage work will take place from Bargain Boutique to Stowe Street.

Work also will begin to install the new traffic signal foundations at the Main Street-Park Row intersection. Expect traffic disruptions at this location.

Bidwell Lane and Stowe Street: Local traffic only recommended. Excavation to lay conduit will take place on the odd-numbered side of Stowe Street from the top of Bidwell Lane to 13 Stowe Street.

Businesses are open. A greeter will assist pedestrians with access to businesses. Parking along Stowe Street will be unavailable during this work. Public parking is available on Bidwell Lane, Elm Street or at 51 South Main Street (former town offices).

From Park Row to the end of the project: Starting Monday, all properties will experience temporary disruptions while preparation takes place for final driveway elevations and slopes, followed by paving. If workers are at your location and you need to get in or out, please talk to a member of the work crew.

Sections of sidewalks on the odd-numbered side of South Main will be closed for concrete pouring and/or curing. Use new sidewalks on the even-numbered side of the street. Stamped concrete work will be ongoing on both sides of the street. Landscaping and tree plantings will begin.
