A Starksboro man is facing a drug charge after a traffic stop in Waterbury earlier this month.

Vermont State Police on Saturday issued a news release reporting that 35-year-old Noah Lincoln has been cited to appear in Washington County criminal court in Barre on April 25 to answer to charges of possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended license.

The charges stem from March 3 when state police stopped Lincoln around 11 p.m. for a motor vehicle violation near Exit 10 of Interstate 89 in Waterbury. During the stop, “troopers observed drug paraphernalia within the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle operated by Lincoln was seized pending the application for a search warrant,” police said.

Lincoln was cited for the license offense on March 3. On March 13, police said Lincoln went to the Berlin state police barracks to retrieve his vehicle following the search. At that time, Lincoln was given an additional citation for the drug charge, the report says. “During the search, approximately 16.0 grams of cocaine was discovered within the vehicle,” police said.
