Vermont State Police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins reported in Middlesex on Thursday morning.
Troopers say they were contacted regarding multiple vehicles that were broken into at residences on Church Street and U.S. Route 2.
The vehicles involved were not locked and the unidentified suspects rummaged through the vehicles and took various items, police said.
State police encourage anyone with information regarding these incidents to contact them at the Berlin Barracks, 802-229-9191.
Troopers also encourage local residents to ensure their vehicles are secure and keys are not left inside parked vehicles.
No injuries in roundabout crash Sunday
A driver was not injured early Sunday morning when his vehicle crashed into the roundabout, according to Vermont State Police.
The incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when state police said they responded to the single-vehicle crash at the roundabout. The driver of the 2022 Chrysler 300 was identified as Junior Carmack, 36, of Cleveland, Ohio, according to police.
The investigation determined Carmack was under the influence of intoxicants; he was taken into custody and issued a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court Criminal Division to answer to the charge of Driving Under the Influence, police said.
Carmack was not injured but his vehicle had extensive front-end damage, police said.
Town officials will assess the damage to the roundabout on Monday.
