The following are summaries of reports from the Vermont State Police in the past several weeks.

Police identify two suspects in purse theft at Shaw’s

Vermont State Police this week cited two individuals to appear in court in March on petit larceny charges in a case involving a purse snatching at Shaw’s in Waterbury on Jan. 25.

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, Daniel McLeod, 50, and Rachel McLeod, 49, both of Waterbury were cited to appear in Washington Superior Court on March 16, according to state police.

The incident happened at 9 a.m. on Jan. 25 when 83-year-old Nancy Potter, also of Waterbury, reported that her purse was stolen from a shopping cart immediately after she loaded groceries into her vehicle, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the accused removing Potter's purse from the cart, loading it into a separate vehicle and then entering Shaw's. Police said they later identified the suspects with the assistance of the public.

Woman cited for sharing sexually explicit images without consent

State police on Jan. 25 reported that they cited a Waterbury woman to appear in Washington Superior Court to answer to a charge of disclosing sexually explicit images without consent.

Detective Trooper Mathew Nadeau in a news release explained that during an ongoing investigation, it was determined that on Oct. 19 at approximately 3:45 p.m. Naomi Watker, 41 of Waterbury, sent two sexually explicit videos of two people known to her via text message to a third party without the consent of the people depicted in the videos.

Police said they contacted Watker on Jan. 25 at her home and was issued a citation to appear in court on Feb. 23.

State police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect in this photo taken at Gate House Plaza at Sugarbush Resort around 1:45 p.m. on Jan. 20.

Police said Melissa Cipolla, 25, of New York City reported her snowboard stolen. Police released a photo where they said they believe the person in the black jacket and yellow pants is carrying the snowboard.

Trooper Crista Maurice said the snowboard has been recovered, but police have not identified who took it. Anyone with any leads should contact her at the Berlin barracks at 802-229-9191.

State police seek information in investigation

The Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at the Berlin barracks issued a request last week asking the public for assistance with an ongoing criminal investigation.

Police did not elaborate on the nature of the investigation, but said they are interested in talking with individuals who attended or worked at Flanders Early Learning Center at Goddard College in Plainfield between 1996 and 1997.

Anyone familiar with the center in that time period is asked to contact Detective Trooper Mathew Nadeau at the Berlin barracks at 802-229-9191.
