Main Street Construction | July 6-10

Starting Monday, July 6, expect heavy construction and delays at the intersection of Main and Stowe streets. Stowe Street between Bidwell Lane and Main Street will be limited to local traffic early in the week. Construction activities are ongoing in all project segments along Main Street and side roads; flaggers and pedestrian crossers are present throughout. Expect delays and one-way alternating traffic.

Between Dac Rowe Park and Stowe Street: Residents and businesses should have water onsite for drinking, washing, and flushing while work is ongoing in this area. Water main installation will take place in this segment starting at Stowe Street heading toward Dac Rowe Park. There will be a lane shift so vehicles will travel on the even-numbered side of the street. Driveways will have temporary closures for excavation. Plan vehicle access accordingly as work progresses. Temporary parking is available at the municipal offices and library.

Main Street between Stowe Street and Park Street: Starting Monday, July 6, a new waterline will be installed on Bank Hill between Elm Street and Stowe Street with a lane shift for traffic in this area. Expect traffic delays as this works take place through the Stowe Street traffic light intersection.

Bidwell Lane and Stowe Street: Local traffic only recommended while excavation and conduit work is done early in the week on Bidwell Lane towards Stowe Street near the parking area behind the WDEV Block and other shops. By mid-week, digging to lay conduit will take place on Stowe Street from Main Street to Bidwell Lane.

A greeter will assist pedestrians with access to businesses. Parking along Stowe Street will be unavailable during this work. Public parking is available on Bidwell Lane, Elm Street or at 51 South Main Street (former town offices).

From Park Row to the end of the project: Sidewalks on the odd-numbered side of South Main Street will be closed for concrete pouring and/or curing. Use new sidewalks on the even-numbered side of the street. Driveway crossings where new concrete is poured will be inaccessible for about seven days. Neighbors are encouraged to share parking or to use the State Office Complex lots (not at Dept. of Public Safety).
