Crews are patiently awaiting the removal of the final utility wire along a stretch of South Main Street so that utility pole removal and sidewalk patching can commence. Town public works officials say they are told the line is expected to be removed soon and contractors are ready to finish the final phase of the Main Street project that began in 2019. When work is in progress, travelers may encounter periods of alternating one-way traffic on Main Street / U.S. Route 2.

Looking ahead to next week after the Memorial Day holiday, the town Public Works Department will begin on Tuesday, May 30, doing repairs to Bridge #33 over Thatcher Brook on Armory Drive. This work will continue throughout the summer construction season. Residents of O'Hear Court and Armory Drive can expect one-lane traffic and possible delays.

Richmond-Bolton

Motorists will encounter areas of one-way alternating traffic along U.S. Route 2 Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 6:30 a.m. to noon on Friday with moderate interruptions. Motorists can also expect to travel on a gravel surface between Snipe Ireland Road and Lemroy Court.
