Saturday information for volunteers & affected residents

Here’s the latest message from the team of select board members and others organizing volunteers to help with flood response for today. There will be NO coordinated volunteer work on Sunday, July 16. Efforts will resume on Monday. Those who have signed up using the volunteer form will receive an email. Watch the town website WaterburyVt.com and Waterbury Roundabout for updates on needs and details.
To the community:
If you can help, we are looking for lots of volunteers in Waterbury, Saturday, July 15th, beginning at 9 a.m. We will also have shifts at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please sign up for your shift here so we can more easily plan.
Please park and check in at the Municipal Building, 28 North Main Street. If parking is full, please park on the street. Again, we have specific needs today:

Wear durable clothing and shoes that you are okay getting dirty, and bring work gloves. It's going to be hot so bring water, an N-95 mask if you have one, and any other personal protective equipment.
SUPPLIES/EQUIPMENT THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL:
Shovels, push brooms, dusters, buckets, contractor bags, tarps, 5 gallon buckets, squeegees
One or two: hand truck/dolly (to move appliances)
Laptops/devices for admin/logistics volunteers
Power washer
Wet/dry vac
Please label any equipment you are bringing. Lunch will be provided. We continue to ask that all volunteers be over 18 years of age.

Anyone seeking emotional support, help with FEMA applications and insurance paperwork, or assistance with any other logistics is invited to head to the Waterbury Public Library (28 North Main Street) from 2 to 4 p.m. today (Saturday) where volunteers will be available to help.
If you need help with logistics, planning, emotional support, or filling out FEMA or insurance forms, please come down, we are here to help you. No signup is needed, feel free to just show up.
Important info residents should know before applying for FEMA is listed below. Know that you have 30 days from July 14 to file an application for assistance.
Before you apply, allow yourself a half hour to fill out the form.
Here is a list of information you will need:
Photos of your damaged home and belongings
A list of damaged / lost items
Social Security Number
Annual household income
Contact info
Insurance information (coverage, company name, etc)
Bank account Info (assistance will be direct deposited)
Insurance determination letter
Proof of occupancy OR ownership (renters are eligible)
Proof of ID
If you have insurance, you must file a claim with your insurance (not necessarily before). Download the app (FEMA in the app store or we can use a QR code to take you to the website).
