OVERALL IMPACTS

  • Ongoing work includes: sidewalks, walkways, installation of new lampposts, landscaping, signage, a final layer of pavement, final line striping. Overhead utility lines will gradually be removed by July 2022.

  • Flaggers and pedestrian crossers will be present where construction is taking place.

  • Watch for changing work locations and traffic patterns.

  • No construction activities are scheduled for weekends.

  • This project is scheduled to be completed in July-August

Segment 1.  North Main Street from Railroad bridge by Dac Rowe to Stowe Street

  • Work continues on North Main Street from the railroad bridge towards the downtown core to prepare for new concrete sidewalks. The schedule for concrete depends on weather. Be prepared to be flexible these next few weeks as the work crew progresses by each property. Forms will be in place for newly poured sidewalks.

  • Residents are asked to communicate with workers if they are blocking a driveway so they can make accommodations. When new concrete is poured, vehicles will need to park off site for several days until the concrete has cured. Parking is available at the municipal office building and library.

  • Businesses affected will have temporary pedestrian access while the concrete cures.

  • Landscaping will take place as weather allows.

Stowe Street  note:

  • The current work on lower Stowe Street is a town project although the work crew is the same.

  • Grading will be May 10 and the first layer of pavement is scheduled to take place beginning May 11 (weather dependent). When grading and paving occurs, the section of lower Stowe Street will be closed for a few hours. Signage will be present to direct traffic.

  • New concrete sidewalks will be poured in early May on the Senior Center side, also weather dependent.

Segment 2.  South Main Street between Stowe Street and Park Street

  • Forms will be set up for newly poured concrete sidewalks.

  • The schedule for concrete installation depends on weather.

  • Residents are asked to communicate with workers if they are blocking a driveway so they can make accommodations. When new concrete is poured, vehicles will need to park off site for several days until the concrete has cured.

  • Impacted business access will have temporary accommodations while new concrete cures.

  • Vehicles will not be able to drive over newly poured concrete at driveway openings for several days. Alternate parking will need to be arranged during this time.

  • Landscaping will take place as weather allows.
