The operator of a motorcycle involved in a crash Wednesday night on Kneeland Flats Road was not seriously injured, but police are looking for the driver of the car who they say left the scene.

The incident happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. near the intersection with Perry Hill Road, according to Vermont State Police Trooper Tylor Rancourt.

The investigation found that a black sedan turned in front of a 2004 Harley Davidson Road King operated by Jason Siegel, 49 of Waterbury. The motorcycle collided with the vehicle resulting in extensive damage to the bike, which was totaled, according to police.

Siegel suffered minor injuries. The sedan likely sustained passenger-side damage and is missing the trim molding under its doors, Rancourt said.

The driver of the car left the scene. He is described as a white male, approximately 30 years old with brown hair and a goatee. Anyone with information about the sedan or its driver should contact the Vermont State Police Berlin barracks at 802-229-9191.

Waterbury Fire Department and Waterbury Ambulance Service responded to the call.
