Vermont State Police are seeking the public’s help regarding a reported theft of skis at Bolton Valley Resort that took place in mid-March.

On Friday, Trooper Christopher Sweeney issued a news release regarding an incident that was reported to police on March 27.

The investigation so far has learned that a man without ski gear was in the area of the ski shop at Bolton Valley around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 18. He reportedly “took several pairs of skis to try on until ultimately, leaving the area with one pair,” according to the release.

The missing skis were not the property of the ski shop, however. Trooper Sweeney said they belonged to a guest at the resort, 39-year-old Caitlin Leggett of South Burlington. “The skis were stored in the area of the ski shop,” he said.

The skis are described as Rossignol Famous 2 and are black/teal/yellow in color.

Police provided a photo of a person of interest in the case. Anyone with information about this individual’s identity is asked to contact the Williston state police barracks at 802-878-7111.
