Vermont State Police say that no one was hurt but two cars were totaled in a crash involving a parked vehicle on South Main Street Monday around 5 p.m.

The crash happened near 88 S. Main St. when a 2017 Toyota Corolla driven by Wayne Honaker, 31, struck an unoccupied 2004 Honda CRV parked along the street, according to troopers. Honaker is listed as transient on the state police news release.

When police arrived, the driver was not at the scene of the crash. Troopers said they located him at a nearby unspecified business.

Troopers said Honaker displayed signs of impairment and was screened. He was taken to the Berlin barracks and issued citations to appear in Washington County Superior Court on Jan. 11 to answer to the charges of Driving Under the Influence-Drugs, Driving Under the Influence-Refusal, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He also was issued tickets for driving with a suspended license, not following traffic signals, and not staying in the lined roadway, according to police.

At the time of the crash, the weather was clear and the road was dry. Traffic on South Main Street was slowed down for a short time as first responders arrived on the scene. Honaker was not hurt, police said, however both vehicles were listed as totaled.
