Tonight at Harwood: State legislators convene education reform discussion
March 24, 2025 | By Waterbury Roundabout
State representatives from the communities of the Harwood Unified Union School District will convene a public forum about state education reform from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight in the auditorium at Harwood Union High School.
Reps. Dara Torre of Moretown, Candice White of Waitsfield, along with Tom Stevens and Theresa Wood of Waterbury are organizing. Washington Sens. Ann Cummings, Anne Watson and Andrew Perchlik are also expected to attend.
The Democratic lawmakers are looking to discuss Gov. Phil Scott’s wide-reaching proposal to overhaul the PreK-12 public education system in Vermont and to hear public input as lawmakers debate the elements of it in Montpelier.
Harwood School Board leaders have shared concerns and objections to the proposal. Learn more about it here. The school will offer an option to watch and participate via Zoom. See this flyer for more information and a virtual link.
