On Wednesday morning, Harwood school district officials announced imminent changes to several bus routes mainly in Duxbury that go into effect tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 1.

In an email to families, parents and caregivers are instructed to visit the district's bus routes page on its website.

The changes affect five routes – two serving Brookside Primary School, three serving Crossett Brook Middle School and Harwood Union Middle/High School. The changes involve the areas the buses serve and several have significant time adjustments.

Shannon Wisdom in the Harwood Unified Union School District central office said the route adjustments were due to staffing issues.

All of the updates affect routes in Duxbury with one of the changes also impacting Waterbury students along U.S. Route 2 who attend Crossett Brook and Harwood.

The biggest timing change is for Bus 1 serving Brookside Primary School. Starting Thursday, it will cover Crossett Hill Road in Duxbury. The morning pick up time will be approximately 30 minutes earlier than the schedule to date. In the afternoon, it will drop students off approximately 30 minutes later, according to the announcement.

The district advises parents to contact their school directly with questions or Danial Sargeant, manager at the First Student Bus Barn. His contact information is on the district’s bus route webpage where the full schedules for all of the district’s bus routes are listed.
