Ballots for the Nov. 2 school bond vote are available now at town clerks’ offices and three more pre-election Q&A sessions are scheduled for the public to get more information about the bond proposal.

The Harwood Unified Union School District has scheduled a special election for voters in the six member communities – Waterbury, Duxbury, Moretown, Fayston, Waitsfield and Warren – to vote on the biggest infrastructure investment in the district’s history. The proposed $59.5 million bond would fund renovations to the 56-year-old Harwood Union High School and an expansion at Crossett Brook Middle School to consolidate all seventh- and eighth-grade classes there.

Voting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at town offices in all of the communities except Waitsfield where voting will be done at Waitsfield Elementary School. See the warning for the Nov. 2 vote with a list of all of the polling places here

Voters may request absentee ballots now to vote early by emailing or calling their town clerk who can mail them a ballot. In Waterbury, call Lawrence at 244-8447 or email clawrence@waterburyvt.com. In Duxbury, call Town Clerk Maureen Harvey at 244-6660 or email to DuxTC@myfairpoint.net. In Moretown, contact Town Clerk Cherilyn Brown at townclerk@moretownvt.net or 882-8218. Voters also may cast a ballot at their town offices in person during regular office hours through Nov. 2.
