Cochran’s Ski & Ride Sale is this weekend at Camels Hump Middle School in Richmond. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5.

“We believe everyone should have access to affordable gear for an active winter and the annual Cochrans Ski & Ride sale connects shoppers with the equipment they need to enjoy the season,” said Ski Club President Karl Goetze. “All proceeds from this volunteer-led event fund our alpine racing club and enable us to keep the sport accessible to families throughout our region.”

Shoppers can expect to find a wide assortment of winter ski and ride gear at low prices, including alpine skiing, cross-country and snowboarding equipment, clothing, and accessories.

The sale features gently used consigned goods and new gear from the ski area’s vendors.

This year, Cochran’s will run a raffle with U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team gear.

Also for sale this year are copies of Olympic gold medalist Barbara Ann Cochran’s just-released new book, “Hike the Course: A Journey of Family, Passion and Olympic Success.” In it the 1978 gold medal winner reflects on her career with the U.S. Ski Team and her teaching and training techniques.

Consignments for the sale were handled in advance online and closed on Nov. 1. Pickup for unsold items and for checks for items sold will be between 1:30 and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The sale is aimed to everyone seeking to enjoy skiing and riding from beginners to serious competitors. In addition to purchases, customers can look to Cochran’s staff and volunteers for advice during the sale. Volunteers will be available to answer questions about individual items and advise shoppers on the right gear for every level of skier or rider.

More details, including a set of Frequently Asked Questions, fit guides, etc. are available online at CochranSkiSale.com.
