Revitalizing Waterbury and the Waterbury Rotary Club have teamed up to host Celebrate Waterbury! a combination local market and drive-in concert from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The free event will take place at Pilgrim Park behind the train station in downtown Waterbury with a rain date planned for the same time on Sunday, Sept. 13.

It starts off at 4 p.m. with an arts and crafts market featuring a variety of artist and food vendor booths. Picnicking will be allowed on the lawn. At 6 p.m., the local band "Still Kickin'" will take the stage for a unique concert that people can enjoy from either a drive-in or walk-in designated spot.

Although the event is free, reservations are required for either a drive-in or walk-in pod.

Organizers are taking precautions to ensure a physically distant and safe event given public health guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Attendees will be required to wear a face mask per state mandate except when they are in their individual spot. Entrances will be monitored and hand sanitizing stations and portable toilets will be available. The local market will be run based on Vermont's farmers market rules with one-direction flow.

Organizers say this will be the final drive-in concert for the season.

More details including full safety rules and the link for free tickets are online on the Waterbury Rotary Club's website.
