Obituary: Emily Walls
January 14, 1966 – February 6, 2022
Emily Walls, age 56, passed away peacefully on the evening of February 6, 2022, after a long and admirable fight against cancer.
Emily was born in Covington, Kentucky on January 14, 1966. At the age of 4, Emily relocated with her mother and two siblings to southern Vermont. In the early 1990s, life brought Emily to Moretown/Waterbury, Vermont, where she remained to raise her family including her four sons, Joshua, David, Hunter and Nicholas.
In 2016 Emily moved to Guildhall, Vermont, with her partner Brian and many animals including her beloved beagles and goats. She was content in spending her time in the quietness and beauty of the land that surrounded her.
Emily had a strong loyalty and love for her family. From a young age, Emily endlessly put others’ needs before her own to ensure everyone was cared for. Throughout her life, Emily made many friends and was always there to pick them up when they were at their low of lows. She was an avid New York Giants fan, loved country music, and while she tolerated the long Vermont winters, it was well known she celebrated the first 70-degree day each spring. Her most important role in life was being a mother. She took great pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow.
Emily is predeceased by her beloved mother, Bessie Walls of Bennington, Vermont, and longtime friend Norberto Garcia of Keeseville, New York.
Emily is loved and mourned by her partner Brian Shannon of Guildhall, who lovingly held her hand to the very end; her brother John Walls of Bennington, Vermont, and sister Kathy Poore of Troy, New York; and her children, son Nicholas Walls of Burlington, son Joshua Walls and his wife Anna, and their children, Jadhyn and Anthony of Waterbury, son David Strom of Waterbury, son Hunter Strom of Morrisville; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Arrangements are by the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster, New Hampshire. Messages may be shared online on the funeral home’s website.
