Priscilla Rose Grout, beloved wife of the late Frederick Andrew Grout and cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, was peacefully called home to her Heavenly Father on April 29, 2024. With heavy hearts, we say “so long” to a remarkable woman whose love, grace, words of wisdom and strength touched the lives of all who crossed paths with her.

Born May 13, 1941, Priscilla's life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She faced life's challenges with courage and grace, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she encountered.

Priscilla's love for her late husband, Frederick, was the cornerstone of their enduring bond. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories admired by all who knew them. His passing left a void in her heart, but their love continues to unite them beyond the realms of this world.

Priscilla was a devoted mother to her three children: Elizabeth “Beth” Henderson, Gwendolyn “Gwen” Grout and son Frederick “Rick” Grout II, as well as Rose Bushnell who was like a daughter to her. Her love and guidance shaped their lives, instilling in them values of compassion, integrity, and perseverance.

Though she mourned the loss of her beloved daughter, Gwendolyn, Priscilla found solace in the memories they shared and the love that bound them together. Gwendolyn's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her, a lasting legacy of love and light.

Priscilla was a doting grandmother to seven grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart: Michael Grout, Kristie and Husband Joshua “Josh” Roberts, April Lester, Kirstin Grout, Vicki Keene and husband Brayden Keene, Abbigail “Abbi” Kirby and Connor Kirby.  Priscilla was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren, whose laughter and innocence brought her immense joy: Landon Roberts, Bryce Roberts, Khloe Roberts, Atesla Roberts, Jason Lester Jr., Kinsley Lester, Paityn LaMotte, Zoie LaMotte, Liam LaMotte, Sebastian Grout, Dahlia Hunter-Wade and Wyatt Grout.

Priscilla was predeceased by her parents Leslie and Gwendolyn Meserve, her husband and soulmate of 53 years Frederick Grout, daughter Gwendolyn “Gwen” Grout, grandson-in-law Jason Lester Sr. and great-grandson Hunter Roberts.

Beyond her immediate family, Priscilla's warmth and generosity endeared her to countless nieces, nephews, and friends who became like family. Her home was a place of welcome and warmth, where all who entered were embraced with love and hospitality.

Priscilla's legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the knowledge that she has found peace in the embrace of her loved ones who preceded her.

May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Andrews Catholic Church in Waterbury. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Priscilla’s honor to Saint Andrews Catholic Church, 109 S. Main Street Waterbury, VT 05676.
