Vaccine clinic update: Waterbury Ambulance adds new COVID-19 boosters for kids

Oct. 22, 2022 | By Waterbury Roundabout

Waterbury Ambulance Service continues to run a busy schedule of COVID-19 and flu vaccine clinics in the region, although no longer at its station in Waterbury Center.

Its main clinic is located in Berlin with pop-up dates scheduled at the University of Vermont and the United Church of Christ in Waitsfield through the end of October.

The agency announced this week that it is now offering the new COVID-19 bivalent booster for 5-11-year-olds at all of its clinics.

From Operations Administrator Maggie Burke-Greiner:

We will be offering the Pfizer Bivalent for 5-11 year-olds and Moderna 6-11 years at all of our sites except at our UVM clinic. We will continue to offer COVID-19 bivalent boosters, flu shots, and COVID-19 primary series at all of our clinics as well. All vaccines are free and appointments are not necessary – walk-ins only!

COVID-19 and flu vaccines are also available at pharmacies (check with locations for appointments) and through healthcare provider offices as supplies allow.
