Student-hosted Virtual Trivia Night to test knowledge, award prizes, raise awareness
March 12, 2021 | By Eliane Odefey
How many cows are there in Vermont? Which famous singer went to Harwood? Out of every 10,000 Vermonters, how many are homeless?
If you think you might know the answers to questions like this, consider signing up for the Harwood Union High School National Honor Society virtual trivia night on Zoom this Saturday, March 13, at 5:30 p.m.
Join in as an individual or with friends/family for a chance to win prizes from local businesses and interact with community members.
Categories will include questions of varying difficulty about local sports, famous people from Vermont, Vermont landmarks, and homelessness in our state. If you are interested, send an email to ccook2021@huusd.org to receive the Zoom link, or find it in the Instagram bio at @harwood_nhs.
This event supports the Living Hope Hygiene Pantry which is currently hosting a product drive to collect personal health and sanitary products to provide to homeless Vermonters. The drive is running March 13-27 and it’s collecting items such as toothpaste and toothbrushes, soap, shampoo and conditioner, razors, deodorant, feminine hygiene items, tissues, etc.
Local collection spots to make a contribution include Shaw’s grocery stores, Waterbury Functional Fitness, KC’s Bagels, and Crossett Brook Middle School. Look for the blue boxes.
Oh, and the answers: 260,000 cows, Grace Potter, and 17.5 homeless people per 10,000 Vermonters (making Vermont the state with the ninth highest number of homeless people per capita).
