Harwood Rotary Interact is hosting its 7th annual bottle drive fundraiser through Saturday, Feb. 18.

The student group partners with the Waterbury and Mad River Valley Rotary clubs for a variety of community service projects. This year’s drive will support Planned Parenthood which, for over 100 years, has worked to "ensure all people have access to the care and resources they need to make informed decisions about their bodies, their lives, and their futures." Planned Parenthood provides reproductive education and health services to millions of people around the world and in Vermont.

The Interact club is seeking all 5- and 15-cent redeemable bottles and cans. Last year’s drive raised $900 and this year’s goal is $1,200.

To participate, drop off bottles and cans at one of the locations below, or request a pickup. Direct any questions to Interact club adviser Ellen Berrings at eberrings@huusd.org.

  • Drop at Rodney’s Transfer Station in Waterbury on River Road (the road to the Waterbury Ice Center) through Feb. 18. Be sure to tell them they are a donation to Harwood Rotary Interact.

  • On Feb.18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., drop off bottles and cans at Hannon Home Center in Moretown.

  • Before Feb. 18, those unable to drop off may request a pickup by emailing Waterbury Rotary volunteer Ron Gulyas at buzzerman12@aol.com.
