Christine Reynolds. 1947-2024

Christine Louise Reynolds of Moretown, Vermont, known for her good sense of humor, love of family, and unwavering support of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics, died peacefully on October 7, 2024, at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, Vermont.

She is survived by her husband Scott Reynolds, her brother Edward Howe, son Eric Reynolds, daughter Tara Reynolds, granddaughters Vivian Sheldon and Nadia Viconi, son-in-law Brian Braganza, and daughter-in-law Megan Sheldon.

Christine was born in Malden, Massachusetts, on January 10, 1947, to Edward Howe and Ruth (Lynn) Howe. She grew up in Everett, Massachusetts, surrounded by close cousins with whom she remained friends throughout her life. Christine graduated from Everett High School in 1965 and she married Scott Reynolds on July 31, 1971. In their 53 years of marriage, Scott and Chris traveled together around the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France and Italy, often with their dear friends Ed and Sarah Miller.

Christine worked for 30 years outside the home as an accountant at the Institute of Professional Practice. Outside of her career, Christine enjoyed reading, knitting, trivia, all things pertaining to cats, and above all, her family. Her favorite role was that of “Grammy” to Nadia and Vivian. Christine was also known for always making her home a welcoming place for friends and the friends of her children, many of whom referred to her as “Mama Reynolds.”

Christine’s family is grateful for the loving support of the wonderful staff at the Hematology and Oncology Department at the University of Vermont Medical Center, Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, and the McClure Miller Respite House.

A service to remember and celebrate Christine’s life will be held at the United Methodist Church in Waterbury, Vermont, at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Christine’s honor to the Central Vermont Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
