A proud veteran, he served in the Vermont National Guard for eight years.
Strummer found joy in hunting and fishing, sharing tales of his adventures with friends and family. He also cherished time spent exploring Vermont with close friends, discovering historical markers, covered bridges, and Masonic lodges. Among his many accomplishments, he was incredibly proud of earning his 50-year pin from the Masonic Lodge, a tribute to his enduring dedication to brotherhood and service.
Strummer was predeceased by his parents Eveline (Croft) and Louis Hallstrom Sr. and his brother Louis Hallstrom Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Nancy (Bailey); his children Tammy (Chris) Miron of Newton, New Hampshire, and Rich (Beth) Hallstrom of Barre Town, Vermont; and his cherished grandchildren, Hannah and Mallory Miron, and Jenna and Julia Hallstrom.
