The Friends of the Stowe Free Library and Trustees of the Stowe Free Library will host an open house this Wednesday, Sept.  27, from 3 to 5 p.m. to welcome the new library director.

Loren Polk started in the position in June, succeeding Cindy Weber who retired at the end of June after serving as library director for 11 years.

Polk has a master’s degree in library and information sciences and previously was executive director at the Aldrich Public Library in Barre since 2018. Prior to that, she worked as a librarian in Kennewick, Washington.

At the open house, the community is invited to visit, take a tour with library staff, and learn about upcoming events, activities, etc.

There will also be cake.

The Stowe Free Library is located at 90 Pond St. in Stowe.
