Waterbury farmer and filmmaker George Woodard is back on the road with upcoming screenings of his second feature film, “The Farm Boy,” in White River Junction and South Royalton.

This weekend, catch the film at the Briggs Opera House in White River Junction Sunday, July 30, at 2 p.m. The following weekend on Friday, Aug. 4, it will be shown at 6:30 p.m. at Vermont Law School’s Chase Center in South Royalton.

The film’s story is inspired by Woodard’s parents, George and Teresa, both from farm families and the second generation to live and work at Woodard Farm in Waterbury Center. The love story and adventure follows the pair from their teen years and courtship to World War II and the separation that brings to their reconnection and the start of their life together.

Filmed in black and white in Vermont and directed by Woodard, “The Farm Boy” is produced by Joan Brace O'Neal. The cast includes Woodard’s son Henry Woodard in the lead role inspired by his grandfather’s character and Woodard’s neighbor Grace Woodruff as his mother.

Tickets: $10 at the door, cash or check only. More information online at hangingmudflapproductions.com
