Carol and Fred Collins of South Duxbury were married in St. Albans by Fred’s grandfather, Frederick Owen Collins, who had never married anyone before and didn’t intend to but Carol, who was living with him, convinced him to do it.

On June 5, Carol and Fred leaned against the railing that stands behind them, made by Fred Spencer of Fayston. Daughter Eliza Collins Weissberger clicked a snapshot out of her car window as she left.

Their son Seth had called and Eliza brought her boys, Asher and Felix, to sit in the picnic area and eat a socially distanced lunch. “No big celebration,” Carol said. “But someday we may do something or go somewhere. We’ll have to see if we get the garden work done.”
