Dozens of local dancers performing ballet, hip hop, Irish jigs and more took to the stage at the Barre Opera House last weekend to film their performances for their annual Green Mountain Performing Arts spring recital to be streamed online starting this weekend.

In-person classes have progressed at the dance studio since last fall following COVID-19 protocols but dance studio directors couldn’t count on a show before a live audience. The performances were recorded by PhotoGraphic TV based in Winooski.

The filmed production titled “Rise Up!” uses the opera house venue and will be offered as an online streamed event allowing friends and family from near and far to enjoy the show and support the nonprofit dance school.

Tickets -- $25 individual, $45 household -- are available to purchase to view the show Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 or 5:30 p.m. Afterwards, ticket codes will be available to purchase and view for 48 hours starting May 30 through June 30. More details are online at greenmountainperformingarts.org
