A new art exhibit titled “Bridging Contrast” is now on view at the Waterbury Congregational Church White Meeting House featuring a body of work by Kelley Taft of Duxbury.

An opening reception is planned for Sunday, Oct. 22, and the exhibit will be on display through November at 8 N. Main Street in Waterbury.

The exhibit presents 30 works using mixed media and assemblage pieces that “combine a strong visual element of contrast with possibilities for bridging the contrast that exists within the self, within relationships, and in the world,” according to Taft’s description.

Viewers are invited to share their own stories and reflections on the question the art explores: “How do we bridge contrast?” in a designated area of the exhibit. Community feedback is welcome and encouraged, Taft said.

The community is invited to an opening reception on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 11:15 a.m. The event is free of charge and there will be refreshments.

Afterward, the church will be open Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for self-guided viewing. Enter through the side door and go upstairs following the signs.

Kelley Taft explores the beauty and questions in life as a life coach and through art and photography. Contact her at therippleeffectvt@gmail.com.
