The Duxbury Land Trust holds its annual meeting Tuesday, April 22, featuring a presentation by forester and Vermont Book Award finalist Ethan Tapper.

The community is invited to this free event starting at 6:30 p.m. in the gym at Brookside Primary School.

A resident of Bolton where he owns a 175-acre forest, Tapper worked as Chittenden County’s state forester from 2016 until 2024. He’s since published what’s become a best-selling book, “How to Love a Forest: The Bittersweet Work of Tending a Changing World,” and launched his own forestry business.

An expert in forest management, conservation and ecosystem stewardship, Tapper will discuss the characteristics, ecology, and management of old-growth forests in Vermont and the role of their restoration in overall forest resilience.
