For many years the Waterbury Rotary Club has organized a visit by Santa Claus to our festive village. This year, Santa will be visiting again, although it will be a little different on Saturday due to the pandemic.

There won’t be hot chocolate, cookies, craft activities, horse wagon rides, or sitting on Santa’s lap. But there will be colorful holiday displays along the edges of Rusty Parker Park, Santa, and elves with gifts!

The special visit is planned for this Saturday, Dec. 12, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Many holiday characters will be lined up along the perimeter of the park to provide smiles for kids of all ages. These will include characters from the movie Frozen, cute animals, elves, snowmen, and other holiday favorites supplied in part by members of the Waterbury Fire Department.

At the end of the line will be Santa Claus in his sleigh, and Santa’s elves will have a gift for young kids. There will be an opportunity for kids to step out of their vehicles briefly for a photo in front of Santa's sleigh (at a safe distance).

This event will be drive-through only, with the entrance to the event from Park Row turning in by the train station onto Park Street. Attendees must stay in their cars. If stepping out for a photo with Santa, those age 2 and older must wear a mask. Please don’t walk into the park to view the displays.

Everyone is welcome to drive by on Saturday, Dec. 12, 3-5 p.m., and enjoy the show.  Click here for Facebook event link.
