Auditions Dec. 13-14 for March Valley Players production

The Valley Players will hold auditions for the mystery-comedy “Murder By Membership Only” on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 13-14, at the Valley Players Theater in Waitsfield. 

Auditions will consist of reading from the script with no advance preparation necessary, according to the audition announcement.

The play by Thomas Hischak has roles for nine women (no male roles) stage-ages 20-70, and it takes place in the fictional exclusive Orczy Club, an "inner sanctum" for women mystery writers in London. 

When the most successful female mystery writer of the day is found dead in the club, these specialists in murder try to solve the case themselves – at the risk of their own lives, since the murderer is obviously one of them. Those present are the owner of the club, two other writers, a critic, a journalist, a visitor from America who has just had her first mystery novel published, the cook, and a long-suffering secretary. Each of these women have an untold secret which causes suspicion among them.

Auditions will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 13-14 at the Valley Players Theater, 4254 Main St. (Vermont Rt. 100), Waitsfield.
