The Waterbury Planning Commission has rescheduled its fourth and final visioning session as part of its ongoing project to update the Town Plan to Tuesday, April 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.
These meetings have brought community members together to brainstorm and share ideas for the future of Waterbury that ultimately will be reflected in the next version of the Town Plan. Vermont municipalities are required to update their plans every 10 years.
The current town plan is posted online on the town website WaterburyVt.com in the Planning and Zoning section. It was last updated in part in 2018, following a full update in 2013. Information about the current update process is found in the Planning Commission section as planWTB.
The commission has held several sessions to date where attendees break into small groups to discuss what they like about Waterbury and what else they would like to see.
Planning Commission member Billy Vigdor said attendees should expect an active meeting where they offer input and ideas. “Participants really enjoy the lively and exciting opportunity to discuss what they want to keep about Waterbury and what they would like to see changed,” he said.
The input from these sessions will be used to guide development of the Town Plan, which will continue through this year.
The meeting will be held in the Steele Community Room at the municipal offices. Registration is not required, but helpful for organizers to anticipate attendance. Register online here.
Those who cannot spend two hours can still leave input on posters that will be set up for the exercises. Snacks will also be provided. Learn more about the Town Plan update process on the project website here.
