Chabad of Waterbury-Stowe hosts Purim celebration on March 7

Feb. 26, 2023 | By Waterbury Roundabout

The recently formed Chabad of Waterbury-Stowe Jewish congregation invites members of the local Jewish community to celebrate the holiday of Purim on March 7.

Purim commemorates the events told in the Book of Esther that saved the Jewish people from massacre in Persia.

The celebration includes a dinner buffet and is free and for all ages. It begins at 4:30 p.m. at 64 Deacons Way, Waterbury Center.

From the invitation:

“Listen to the Megillah being read and shake your gragger, then enjoy a dinner buffet and traditional hamentashen. Take a Mishloach Manot to swap with a friend and grab a drink for yourself, while the kids head over to the craft table for Purim activities and fun.

Come in costume if you're feeling brave, or just as yourself, if that's more your style. Either way, bring your energy, because Purim is all about radical joy!”

For more information, message through the group’s Facebook event, website, or email Rabbi Baruch Simon at rabbibsimon@gmail.com.
