It’s a case of theater for kids by kids at Lost Nation Theater next Friday as 22 young performers present a single show of “Fractured Fables: African Tales.”

Directed and developed by licensed theater practitioner Erin Galligan Baldwin in consultation with West African Drummer Jordan Mensah, the show will feature youth ages 9 and up taking part in the company’s storytelling production camp.

The program focuses on ensemble, character development, the use of costume and set elements, and drumming to explore African legends and folklore.

Appropriate for audience members of all ages, including toddlers, the performance happens at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 23, at Montpelier City Hall Arts Center. Run time is approximately 35 min. Tickets are general admission and $5; for an extra fee, center section seats may be reserved. More information and advance tickets are online at LostNationTheater.org

Although not required, masks are recommended for audience members. Lost Nation Theater uses a state-of-the-art Bio-Defense Air Purification Synexis system.
