The Friends of Green River Reservoir will host a film screening on Oct. 24 of the new documentary “Green River Reservoir” by Waitsfield filmmaker Ian Sweet.

The screening will be held at the Lamoille Union High School auditorium at 7 p.m.

The film explores the history of the reservoir, current challenges, and how economics and climate change may affect its future. Part of the Vermont State Parks system, Green River Reservoir is a popular recreation destination and key wildlife habitat.

The film has been aired on Vermont Public and is available online

The friends organization was involved in the making of this film and the screening will include a discussion with Sweet and several other guests involved in the project such as friends board members, Eric Hanson of the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, wildlife photographer Ron Kelley, and Vermont State Parks Regional Park Manager Nick Caputo.

Admission is free. More information: fgrrvt.org
