Building on a successful online holiday concert with more than 920 views so far, conductor Mary Jane Austin has announced online rehearsals for the 2021 Spring Concert of the Mad River Chorale beginning Monday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m.

The community chorus invites active and former members as well as other interested singers to join in preparing an online concert to be premiered in June with piano accompanist Alison Cerutti and several other instrumentalists.

The program will center around the Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes and several other familiar songs. There will be choral numbers as well as solos, duets, trios and quartets. To protect the health of singers, all rehearsals will be virtual using Zoom.

In addition, Mad River Chorale has been invited to perform as part of Stowe’s Weekend of Hope May 1-3, celebrating its 20th annual weekend retreat offering education, enlightenment, and inspiration for cancer survivors, their families, and their caregivers. At that event, the chorale will provide a virtual performance of Robertson’s “Dream a Dream,” which will also be part of the virtual spring concert.

More information about singing with the Mad River Chorale is online at madriverchorale.net or call 496-4781.
