Gov. Phil Scott last Saturday visited the Cotton Brook recreation area for an event to promote electric-powered snowmobiles.
Scott joined Cindy Lock, executive director of VAST, the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers, along with Sam Bruneau, chief executive officer and co-founder of Taiga Motors, based in the LaSalle section of Montreal.
Taiga produces recreational and utility snowmobiles 100% powered by electricity as well as electric jet-ski-like personal watercraft.
The governor highlighted the quiet, new technology as fitting in with popular outdoor recreation in Vermont and the state’s goals to increase use of EVs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
