In the run-up to Waterbury Arts Fest in two weeks, Revitalizing Waterbury has created a local shopping promotion that will score participants an Arts Fest 2023 commemorative poster.

ArtShop starts on Monday, July 1, with a variety of local stores, restaurants and businesses participating.

Similar to the popular Wrap it Up & Win holiday promotion that Revitalizing Waterbury has run for years, participating businesses will have little cards that they will stamp for shoppers and diners who make a purchase.

Once cards have four stamps, the holder can drop them off at the Revitalizing Waterbury booth at Arts Fest on Friday and Saturday, July 12-13, to receive a prize – a 2023 Waterbury Arts Fest Commemorative Poster. Everyone who turns in a completed card will qualify, according to Executive Director Karen Nevin.

The 23rd annual Waterbury Arts Fest will again be held on Railroad Street behind the Waterbury Train Station starting with a Friday night block party, 5-9:30 p.m., featuring live music by The Grift, a food court with more than a dozen vendors and a beer garden.

The all-ages event will include games and plenty of room for picnicking.

The setup changes for Saturday’s arts market, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with more than 100 artist and vendor booths, a stage with live music and entertainment all day, the food court and kids activities.

Waterbury Arts Fest is the main annual fundraiser for the nonprofit community and economic development organization, Revitalizing Waterbury. The two-day event has many local sponsors led by VSECU, Suburban Propane, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, and Ben & Jerry’s.
