Waterbury LEAP and the Waterbury Energy Plan Committee have organized opportunities for businesses in Waterbury and Duxbury to have energy-efficiency evaluations in April.

On April 5, 7, and 13, an Efficiency Vermont energy efficiency specialist will be visiting the area to do free 45-60 minute in-person energy walk-throughs for businesses interested in saving energy and money.

The evaluations will involve:

  • A 360-degree view of where energy is being wasted

  • A clear, objective, organized plan of action to start saving energy with specific recommendations and steps to take

  • Information about financial incentives and custom rebates to minimize project costs

In May 2021, 14 local Waterbury businesses had similar energy walk-throughs from Efficiency Vermont.  Here’s an article from the Waterbury Roundabout that describes their experiences.

The visit will include a top-to-bottom look at energy use in each business with an inspection of systems that draw energy such as lighting, heating and cooling systems, and special equipment. It may also involve inspection of a building’s level of insulation and air sealing to suggest improvements based on projected savings, cost-effectiveness, health and safety.

Appointments are available for all three dates between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. For more information or to sign up, email Alayna Howard at Waterbury LEAP at alaynahoward@gmail.com.

Everyone who signs up also will be entered in a drawing for one of two $50 gift certificates to The Reservoir restaurant in Waterbury.
