Dec. 1 UPDATE: Weekly prize winners are drawn on Wednesdays and listed online at discoverwaterbury.com/wrap-it-up-winners. Revitalizing Waterbury will contact winners and add to the list each Wednesday through Dec. 21.

Waterbury’s annual holiday shopping focus on local, small businesses returns this week with the Wrap It Up & Win promotion starting Friday, Nov. 25, according to Revitalizing Waterbury.

Nearly 50 local businesses participate in the four-week effort to focus on supporting merchants, restaurants, breweries, etc. during the holiday shopping season.

Organized by Revitalizing Waterbury, the promo features weekly drawings to give away thousands of dollars in gift cards and other prizes. Drawings will happen on Wednesdays, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7, 14, 21.

To take part, shoppers should look for the Wrap It Up & Win snowman logo in participating businesses and request a card to keep track of purchases. Visit local shops, restaurants, etc. to receive a stamp on the card. After a card has five stamps, drop it off by Tuesday at Bridgeside Books, Tiny Acorn or Sunflower Natural Foods to be included in the weekly drawing for gift certificates and merchandise from local shops and eateries.

There is no limit to the number of times one can enter each week.

Revitalizing Waterbury also reminds folks that Nov. 26 is Small Business Saturday, a national movement to focus shoppers on supporting their local businesses for the holidays.

“November is the new December and we encourage you to spend your shopping

dollars locally,” said RW Executive Director Karen Nevin.

RW online on its Discover Waterbury website has a list of merchants and businesses participating in Wrap It Up & Win along with a local holiday gift guide and a calendar of holiday events in town.

Revitalizing Waterbury is Waterbury’s nonprofit community development organization.
